Renovation...

The renovation has officially started. The slab was poured at the end of April and then we waited...waited...and waited as the slab cured.

We visited the slab often!!!

Finally, progress was made and we've got walls & we even have a complete roof over it too.

The framing of the addition is done and Wade had the very daunting task of taking all of the brick off of the original house. He did it all by himself in a weekend and the house was officially see through. It didn't take long to get the new OSB put up and it's no longer see through. The windows are out and the new ones will be installed in a few weeks. We're making progress!!!

More pictures and posts soon!!!

Something to blog about...

I've been so busy doing everything else you can possibly imagine that I have neglected so many things. One of those things is posting something here...

I am trying really hard to make a go of this UpperCase Living stuff. It's fun, it's inexpensive and it's so unique. I know I may sound as if I'm begging, but if you haven't taken a look at my sight and the catalog, please do.

Let me know if there is anything I can help you with!!!

One of the other things I've neglected terribly is my camera. I do love it and love taking pictures. I need to some new subjects that aren't so sick and tired of me coming after them with the camera. Unfortunately I don't have any new pictures to share, so I decided to take a quick trip down memory lane to remind myself that time flies by entirely too fast.

That's Julia on the left and Megan on the right...

My first babies have grown so much since then...

Everyone have a great week and HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

XOXO,

Jen

Momma's so proud...

This post is about 2 momma's being proud. One of those is the mother of sweet birthday girl Georgia. I'm sure I speak for her and the entire family when I say "what a beautiful young lady you are becoming!"

Happy Birthday Gigi!!!

The other momma is me of course. My girly girl of the twins made the very "big girl" decision to have her ears pierced today. It's not something we set out to do. The opportunity presented itself and just like that, it was done. Now of course there were tears, but she held it together and she is so proud of her real earrings and I am so very proud of her.
Having a little fun at "Sweet & Sassy" before...
Looking a little nervous...

So very beautiful and proud!!!

Have a great week.

The Popeye...

We don't really know why she does this and we've found that she can easily alternate between eyes. We have discovered that it's just plain adorable and I couldn't go another day without posting this picture!!!

Who needs traditional toys when you've got an old metal paint can opener to play with.
Enjoy!!!

A family, a horse & some glue...

An interesting title for an interesting Sunday. I took some Christmas card pictures for a family and had great fun doing it. I think I got some good pictures even though I'm still very amatuer at this. I encountered a rather cooperative and photogenic horse and during my brief time away from the house, my sweet Holly busted her chin open. That's where the glue comes. A quick trip to the ER, a little skin glue and she's all better. All in all; a good day. Enjoy the pictures and this cooler weather!!!

Have a wonderful week!!!

Future football star!!!

On Saturday night I was witness to the coolest football game ever. Not simply because it was rather cold and I lost some feeling in my fingers, but because it was just downright cool to watch. The final result; the Red team of the pee-wee league are the...
2008 SUPERBOWL CHAMPIONS!
Congrats to all the boys for a great season!

Pathetic Excuse for a Ponytail...

Somehow, Holly managed to stay still just long enough for me to pull the little hair she actually has into a ponytail. She was oddly amused by it and left it in for about an hour. I think it made her look a little more grown-up.

Everyone have a great week!!!
Happy Veterans Day!!!

Catch-Up

Busy busy busy...That's the never ending theme that describes my life best, but I'm not complaining. The girl's have celebrated their 6th birthday - very hard to believe. They performed for their 3rd year at the "spirit day" football game. I think I just might have some cheerleaders on my hands. I survived my first year "organizing" the PTC Halloween Carnival. (Couldn't have done it without so many of you!!!). Halloween parties at school are done and of course the big night itself.
Julia was the ice princess, but in a nice way. I like to just say she was the blue princess. She got to wear make-up and granny helped to fix her hair in a bun; she looked so grown up.Megan was a witch. A don't fix my hair, no make-up and black rain boots witch. Julia, Megan & I (along with our travel buddies) decorated ourselves with glow sticks and partied the night away at the Ellis Annual Bash. They can sure throw a fun party. We stayed until 11:30 p.m. and despite all the sugar that was coursing through their little bodies, they all still crashed in the car on the way home. The sign of a successful party.
Holly...my "2 YEAR OLD" Holly. She has so much to learn. She refused to wear her costume; we were lucky to get the few pictures of her that we do have from that night. Needless to say, she (and her frown) and daddy didn't get to make it to the party and she was in bed early.
This last picture is what I like to call the "staple" that you will find in every one of my posts. It's the pop-eye. She's got that look down pat.
Everyone have a great week!!!

The beautiful...

So here I am posting again after at least a week of sickness. We are all finally feeling better and just in time for a birthday party for the girls and another for a curious young boy.

Megan is usually not my photogenic one, but has really given me some beautiful shots lately.

A mother's kiss...simply beautiful!!!

Beautiful beatuiful Paige! Thanks for letting me torture you with my camera!!!

And what post would be complete without a picture of the "popeye." My beautiful Holly with green icing on her face!!!

I feel guilty for not posting a picture of Julia, but she's still got a runny nose and it seems to show in each picture.

Have a great day!

Back to reality...

It was a sunny, and occassionally rainy, fun filled few days on the beautiful Disney Wonder, but alas it's back to reality for us all. School, work, laundry & dishes!
Our cruise began with a musical "bon voyage" celebration as we left Port Canaveral, Florida. The girls each got bright shiny streamers to wave around and I snapped these wonderful pictures.

Our first stop was to Nassau, Bahamas where we spent the day at the Atlantis Resort's water park. The place was amazing and huge; lots to see and do, but not enough time as just a day visitor. I will definately consider coming here exclusively.

After returning to the boat; tired and sunburned (for me, not everyone else) the girls got to spend time in the pool and on the Mickey slide.

The theme on the boat was "A Pirate's Life for Me" so of course we got to see Mickey & Minnie in their pirate attire and we were provided with pirate attire of our own which we wore proudly!

Our second and final stop was at Disney's private island, Castaway Cay. There, we saw an old shipwrecked pirate ship (man-made of course) and sparkling blue water.

The girls enjoyed time playing on the beach's powdery sand.

While this was a Disney cruise, Holly made sure to bring the Popeye face along!!!

We attempted to go on an excursion in a glass bottom boat, but instead found ourselves in a cooling tropical downpour and of course Megan was the only one who found complete fun in being drenched from head to toe.

It was a fabulous time and we can't wait to go again. Everyone have a wonderful day!

I'm new here!

This is it...my first official blog. After admiring the blogs of others from afar, I finally decided to create one I can call my own. I don't know what I have to talk about, but I will definately be posting pictures and projects. Everyone have a great week!
